We don't just factory-reset it and hope for the best. Storage is overwritten so the data can't be recovered — then the device is signed out of iCloud, Google, Microsoft and any other accounts left behind.

If you'd rather see the drive shredded or drilled instead of wiped, tell us on the quote. We'll pull the drive, destroy it in front of you (or on our bench), and recycle the pieces. Two things to know first:
Most modern iPads, iPhones and newer MacBooks/laptops have the storage soldered to the motherboard — it can't be removed without destroying the whole device. On those, a full wipe is the only real option. On older laptops and desktops with a regular SSD or HDD, destruction is straightforward.
A destroyed drive can't be reused, so the offer on that device drops. We'll show you both numbers on the quote so you can decide.
A full wipe overwrites your data so it stays unreadable for good. Destruction gives you the peace of mind of watching the storage physically go — it doesn't leave your data more removed than a wipe already did.
What people ask before handing us a device.
A proper overwrite on a modern SSD or HDD removes the data — it's not the same as dragging files to the trash. If you're still not comfortable, ask for physical destruction on removable drives and we'll handle it.
You don't have to. If you can sign out of iCloud / Google / Microsoft beforehand, that's helpful, but we clear all of that as part of the wipe. Bring it as-is if that's easier.
Still take it. If we can't boot it, the drive gets pulled and either wiped on our equipment or destroyed — your call. Dead devices aren't a security problem.
It doesn't cost extra, but it lowers the cash offer on that device because we lose a resellable part. We'll always quote both numbers so you can pick.
